Nordic Runes on a 20" Chain, sterling silver.

Algiz – Algiz translates literally to Elk. This rune is the archetypal higher self. The Elk is the king of the forest. Algiz teaches us to tap into that inner wisdom and divinity that we all posses. Algiz is also associated with The Valkyries, the female winged warriors of Norse mythology. To work with Algiz, imagine yourself as a Valkyrie. When you spread your wings, where will you fly?

Eihwaz – Eihwaz literally translates to Yew. The Yew was believed to be the World Tree. When this rune appears we can work with initiation in a multiplicity of ways. Eihwaz is timeless, it is mysterious, and it can teach us about spiritual becoming. To work with Eihwaz meditate on your past lives, deepen your commitment to your practice, and consider eternity.

Ansuz – Ansuz is the rune of the Gods. This rune is symbolic of divine power, of inspiration, of god-like presence, the intellectual, and also our ancestors. When Ansuz appears it is asking us to tap into our own creative wisdom. Ansuz allows us to be magnetic. Through this rune we can learn to listen to our own inner story, power, and voice. To work with Ansuz open a book, work with the breath, channel, and read poetry.

Dagaz – Dagaz is a rune that works with time. This is the rune of realization. When this rune appears to us it asks us to awaken, or experience an awakening in ourselves. Dagaz looks like a balancing act, but really it is about staying centered, while calmly surveying the horizon. When we balance between points, looking in both directions at once, what inspiration are we able to uncover? Dagaz is also a gateway of sorts. When we pass through Dagaz, or look through the lens of Dagaz, we may find that our perspectives have shifted, which is a beautiful thing.

Laguz – Laguz translates to ocean or water, which is a nod to our unconscious or subconscious. Water is also the beginning or the root of all things. We all came from the water. This rune guides us to listen to the liminal and to dive into our dreams. When this rune appears, it’s a good moment for us to tap into the mystical side of ourselves. It’s a reminder to trust our intuition as well. How can we better listen to our own knowing? To work with this rune, study clairvoyance, intuitive magic, channeling, and dream work.
