Smoky Quartz is commonly used to relieve muscle cramps and spasms as well as boost the metabolism. It is said that placing Smoky Quartz under your mattress will help alleviate back pain. Used in meditation, it is a useful grounding stone and helpful in creating positive energy flow. It is believed to encourage energy flow through the hands.

History & Lore

Historically, Smoky Quartz was used by the Chinese to make sunglasses as well as by the Romans and Sumerians to create seals. It is the official gem of Scotland. ancients believed this stone guided ones soul to the afterlife and represented the dark power of earth Gods & Goddesses. It was used in shamanic & tribal rituals to communicate with the underworld.  

Care & Cleansing

Bury underground in a sacred place for at least a half-hour. Rinse with sea salt and charge in full sunlight.
