With the spring equinox, a new astrological year begins, and the year's wheel continues to turn. This earth-based holiday, also known as Ostara, is a festival of beginnings. This is the time of year to set your intentions and plans in action.
Like the seedlings beginning to burst through the warming earth, your dreams, too, might start to take root. This ritual kit (learn more here) guides you through the creation of a spell jar. A spell jar is a powerful charm to craft because it is a physical representation of an intention, a visual representation of what you’re calling in during a ritual and spell. Each item you add to a spell jar boosts the intention or spell you’re crafting through its symbolism and magical properties.
First, assemble all your materials for the ritual. Take out your glass pen, ink set, and parchment paper, and write an intention, dream, or vision for the year ahead. Keep this intention to a single sentence. The more precise and more concise, the better. Once you’ve set your intention, read it aloud three times before rolling or folding the parchment toward you. Then, place your intention in the glass jar.
On top of your parchment paper, add your green aventurine stone to the jar. This healing crystal is known for its healing, intuitive, and dream-inducing properties. In its beautiful green color, this stone represents the beginning of spring and adds magic to your intention. Along with the stone, add a sprinkle of the ritual flower blessing consisting of calendula, rose, chamomile, hibiscus, hawthorn leaf, and hawthorn flower to add a blessing of abundance to your intention.
Finally, place the jar in the center of the pentacle board, adding the rest of the flower blessing to the three points of the board. Seal the jar with the wax seal kit, and as you do, say this invocation aloud three times over the board, flowers, and your spell jar…
