Healing Properties

Throughout history sunstone has been used for boosting ones metabolism while stimulating self-healing powers. Sunstone is said to regulate and harmonize all of the organs and is often used to treat chronic sore throats, ulcers and stomach pains. Sunstone is commonly known as an abundance stone, encouraging independence and confidence while revealing hidden talents.

History & Lore

In the early 1800's sunstone was rare and costly. It wasn't until the early 1900's that sunstone was found in other locations, making it more widely known and less expensive. It is said that Native Americans found sunstone in ancient lava fields in a desert area called Warner Valley. According to a Native American legend, the blood of a great warrior, wounded by an arrow, dropped onto pieces of Oregon sunstone. The blood carried his warrior spirit into the stones, coloring them with shades of red and giving them sacred power.
